IFF is a leading creator and manufacturer of flavors and fragrances used in a wide variety of consumer products—from fine fragrances and toiletries, to soaps, detergents and other household products, to beverages and food products.

IFF and its predecessor companies have been in the flavor and fragrance business since 1833. IFF has been a worldwide business since its formation in 1958 when the U.S.-based van Ameringen & Haebler, Inc. (founded 1917) merged with the Dutch company Polak & Schwarz (founded 1889). IFF became a public company on the NYSE in 1964. In 2000, IFF acquired Bush Boake Allen, formerly the industry’s 7th biggest player.
